Get Rid Of Disposal Odors Forever With This Hack

Dealing with bad odors coming from the recyling bin is never fun, especially when you live in a small space where the disposal is within arm's reach from the kitchen. We've tried all the hacks but air fresheners tend to make the smell worse, scented candles aren't powerful enough to diffuse the stench and sprinkling a handful of baking soda can be wasteful.

Don't worry, all hope is not lost! There's something you can do that won't cost you any time or money—all you have to do is soak a cotton ball in some essential oils and drop it at the bottom of your trash can (under the plastic liner). Choose from these equally great options: 

• Lemongrass - natural bad-odor balancer, kills harmful bacteria upon contact
• Tea tree/Grapefruit - diffuses odors by fighting off bacteria
• Mint - great for fending off pests like ants and cockroaches

You don't have to stick to just one oil, too. If you want to reap benefits of a couple of oils at once, just drench two cotton balls respectively before chucking them under the bin. Make sure to change these deodorizers at least once a week.
