Style Meets Security In This Artsy Duo's Pet-Friendly Abode
Here's how young couple Gela Muñoz and Paolo Salgado made their home not just aesthetically pleasing and pet-friendly, but also safe and secure, all thanks to PLDT Home.
When your passions lie in art and design, there’s no better home than a blank slate. That’s exactly what Agape Design Studios CEOs Gela Muñoz and Paolo Salgado got when they moved into Gela’s parents’ old home: an all-white Mediterranean Revival-inspired bungalow, which they share with their dachshund Frankie.
Old Becomes 'New'
The couple’s current home office is a space Gela was all too familiar with. “This house was actually a house that my parents were going to sell before the pandemic started,” she shares.
As their first home contract was coming to an end, they decided to spruce up the house and rent it instead. The laid-back and peaceful Parañaque neighborhood where it’s located eventually sealed the deal.
The space is predominantly white, from the pristine walls to the curtains, to the window and door trimmings. This easily gave Gela and Paolo the freedom to decorate it according to their own aesthetic.
The kitchen, for example, was given a lux makeover with the addition of granite tiles and black cabinets with gold hardware. When the original counter tiling fell off, the couple decided to “embrace the imperfections,” painting over the exposed areas with the same shade of black they used for the cabinets to create a uniquely textured fixture.
Throughout the entire home, an eclectic mix of decorative pieces—some artsy, some geeky—act as the main pops of color in their respective spaces. “We settled in by adding furniture we liked, art pieces, and memorabilia that is very ‘us’,” Gela says.
The living room, however, is largely Frankie’s space. While Gela and Paolo enjoy meals on their custom-made dining table, their furbaby can often be found lazing about on their blue-gray living room sofa, conveniently located on his favorite checkered rug.
Safety First for the New Couple
Because their work has them heading out of the house often, security is a major concern for the couple—especially with their dog almost always running about. Gela and Paolo decided to install the eufy Indoor Camera in their living room, a purchase tucked into their PLDT Home internet plan.

What makes the veranda extra special, says Gela, is Paolo’s tradition of serving a home-cooked meal here every time they celebrate Valentine’s Day.
