Buying your first home is an important milestone that you need to prepare for. Whether you're buying a house and lot or a condo unit, there are different factors to look into so that you can turn the bare space into the dream haven that you have always wanted.

Before finalizing the theme and style of your house or the furniture and decor that you would need, it's best to think about these critical items first:

Type of Home

Depending on your budget, lifestyle, and personality—you can choose the type of property that you can invest in. There are 4 types of homes commonly found in our country—bungalow, multi-storey home, townhouse, and condo unit.

Space

If you're a newly married couple, you can build a starter home that will meet your basic needs. Depending on your lifestyle, you can choose between a studio unit or a one-bedroom condo. Looking ahead into the future, you may want to invest in a house and lot where you can build a family home.

Always consider the function of the space and the different areas that you would need. If you area really considering a condo investment, a loft-type home evokes a spacious and airy feel. Just be sure that you childproof the space if you have kids running around the house.

Location

How fast can you get from point A to point B? No one wants to get stuck in (horror) traffic so make sure that you place is accessible and near landmarks, schools, and business districts. Many property developers are breaking ground within hotspots so if you're ready to buy a unit, there are tons of options to choose from.
