Many of us are familiar with the feeling of dread each time a scheduled cleaning day nears. While you can always reschedule or do it in a snap, dedicating a day or two to cleaning can do wonders for your space and for your life.

Last year, we saw the rise in popularity of the KonMari method—the brainchild of Marie Kondo, which highlights the life-changing magic of tidying up. Whether you’ve just started your journey or you’re almost done, we’re sure that you’ve learned a thing or two about letting go and keeping items that truly spark joy. Completing the method is an achievement, but keeping the principles in mind and doing it regularly is another.

To help you monitor your progress and stay true to your decluttering goals, the KonMari app is made available to iOS users via the App Store! We downloaded the app to give you an overview of how it works—and to say that we’re excited is an understatement.

When you go to the App Store, simply search for KonMari, then download the one developed by KonMari Media.

You have the option to connect the app to your Facebook account.

One thing that we loved about the app is it asks about the size of your home. The size is used to determine the recommended due dates per task.

When going through the KonMari journey, nothing beats receiving encouragement from friends and seeing your progress.

Once inside the app, the dashboard lets you see an overview of the five main categories of the KonMari method. The percentage shows how much you've accomplished so far while the feed above it highlights the journey of the people you're following.

We have to admit, there are days when we forget to sort through documents, fix personal items, and keep the closet organized. To help you stay focused and within schedule, the app sends reminders and notifications so you'll never forget your goals.

Inside each category, you can set due dates, track your momentum, and even take "before" photos! This gives you something to look back on when you've finished the journey.

According to the app's overview on the KonMari website, notifications will also give out quotes from Kondo's book to help you stay motivated.

Going beyond the reminders, the app helps build a sense of community among those who follow and use the KonMari method. Each person helps spread the word about how it can help improve one's life—since you can share photos and progress reports.

Once you have the app on your phone, don't forget to edit and maintain your profile. This helps you see how far you've gone and how rewarding it is to let go of things you no longer use or need. Trust us, it will make you feel better and lighter!

The KonMari App will soon be available to Android users. For news and updates, subscribe to their mailing list and visit the KonMari website.
