Tiny homes come in all shapes and sizes. We've got narrow spaces, molecule houses and a 2.3sqm mobile camper, but have you ever heard of 1sqm homes? You read that right—1sqm.

The One-Sqm-House Project is a brainchild of Berlin-based architect Van Bo Le-Mentzel of Hartz IV Mobel. Inspired by the desire to have a space to call his own, no matter how tight it was, he decided to explore and experiment on the boundaries of tiny houses.

In 2012, Le-Mentzel collaborated with BMW Guggenheim LAB and EastSeven Hostel, where they invited Berliners to attend workshops and build their own tiny houses—they even covered the cost for materials. All the houses that were built are up for listing on Airbnb for 1 EUR/night (around P55) and is a hit among backpackers and tourists who don't want to book expensive hotel rooms.

These compact flats are mighty comfortable, too—it has a sliding window for ventilation, a door you can lock for protection, a desk if you need to eat or get work done and it even has wheels in case you need to move it to a new spot.
