Clean and Organize Your Appliances this Weekend
Be productive with the help of these easy must-dos
The weekend is the best time to clean the different areas of the house as well as sort some of our essentials. If your schedule permits, you may also clean some of the appliances. To be able to keep these must-haves in tip-top shape, we need to make sure that they are well-maintained. After all, we use them everyday!
Let these handy hints guide you.
Clean air conditioner evaporator coils
Cleaning AC units is a bit tricky so you may want to get in touch with an aircon technician for help.
Check the gas stove piping and connection for signs and leaks
Turn off the gas then fill a spray bottle with water. Spray the pipes and connections. Once done, turn on the gas and see if it bubbles. If there's a leak, consult with an expert as soon as possible.
Clean your microwave
Steam clean the insides of your appliance by heating a bowl of white vinegar inside for a minute.
Clean refrigerator condensers
Accomplish this task using a vacuum cleaner or broom. Make sure the door gaskets are sealed tightly to prevent the cold from escaping.
Remove dust from the blades of your ceiling fan
Do this task with a ceiling feather duster. Use a safe and sturdy ladder so you can clean even the hard-to-reach areas.
Organize your appliances according to use
Keep the kitchen clutter-free by grouping the different essentials according to use: for baking, cooking, food preparation, and serving, to name a few. Maximize the cabinets by properly storing the items inside. Maintain a clear kitchen counter by leaving only the appliances that you use daily such as the microwave, toaster, and coffeemaker.
