Upgrade Your Home Office With These How To Get Away With Murder-Inspired Must-Haves

You deserve a space fit for a girl boss

If you've watched How To Get Away With Murder before, you would know that every episode is a solid 10 out of 10. It's unpredictable, funny, and leaves you shocked with cliffhangers. Now, I may not have proper legal knowledge but I can appreciate an engaging melodrama.

More than that, Viola Davis is amazing as Annalise and has created one of the most interesting characters on TV right now. Seeing her strategize with the Keating 5 and win every week makes me want to be like her in any way I can.

Since a lot of scenes happen in her home office, I couldn't help but take design points from my favorite woman of power. I took the best parts of Annalise's work space and gave it a modern twist and you can do the same with these picks:

Main photos from: Notey and TV Line.

Annalise has a lot of floor lamps around her office and likes to keep the lighting very low. If you want the same feel but don't have enough space, you can choose table lamps instead. Go for interesting shapes that can add an unexpected twist to your work area.

Aside from piles of paperwork, Annalise displays a lot of art in her office. Create a similar look with a couple of these clear frames that can give your room a minimalist touch.

RL Tip: Not a fan of traditional art? Feel free to switch things up with calligraphy print-outs of your favorite sayings or memorable family photos!

Every office needs a statement swivel chair. Give black leather a rest and go for something lighter. Earth colors like beige, blush or soft green can add depth to your decor and keep it from looking dated.

RL Tip: If you want to stick with darker colors, you can keep things fresh by adding pillows in the same netural shades.

Countless books stacked in basic shelves can sometimes look too plain. Combine design and function with unique storage units. You can do more than keep reading materials in these, too. Experiment with adding a few knickknacks or travel souvenirs to keep it fun!
