The Christmas season tends to be the longest in the Philippines, with the tree and tinsel decor being up sometimes until as late as Valentine's Day (!). Ideally, the decor should be taken down right after Three Kings Day, which is on January 6th, this year.

But we can't blame you for procrastinating, as it is tedious to take down all the holiday baubles and store them properly, one by one. (Or you can click on this story for more Christmas ornament storage ideas.) We did, however, learn from a local interior designer about how his family stores the impeccably-decorated Christmas tree: they wrap the entire tree, decorations and all, in plastic shrink wrap and store it in the corner of an unused room.

Does the idea sound too crazy? It's actually not, as the arrangement of the baubles are perfectly preserved, the entire thing is protected from dust, and if the tree remains undisturbed the entire year, all you have to do is unwrap the tree and voila! A perfectly decorated tannenbaum, all ready to display. This article even suggests throwing a shrink-wrapping party to end the season.

You can buy plastic shrink wrap at major bookstores and hardware stores. In the meantime, here's a video on how to wrap your tree:
