Peach is a favorite pastel, and most of us may be tempted to use the delicate tint in country-style kitchens or in little girls’ bedrooms. But did you know that peach could be trendy, exotic, and modern, too?

Our Color Combo of the Week shows peach in all its permutations—a soft, almost-pink blush, a tropical apricot-orange, and a sophisticated dark peach that borders on terracotta.

Get inspiration from these creative uses of peach, as seen in Real Living’s homes:

Salmon-peach bedroom

Little Macie loves pink for her bedroom, but designer Jen Sohu made the color a bit more grown-up by injecting a peachy-salmon tint to the pink paint. Pistachio green paint and linen offset the sweetness the room.

Cherry blossoms girls’ room

While the rest of this tropical vacation house remains in sophisticated neutrals, decorator Gwyn Guanzon decided to be playful in the girl’s bedroom, adding an age-appropriate sakura (cherry blossom) mural by Barbara Opida and Gian Gianan on top of the blush pink-and-peach walls.

A modern take on peach

According to Rosvi Gaetos, executive director of the Design Center of the Philippines (DCP), interior palettes will include “blush, retro, and gray tones.” All three colors are seen here in this furniture collection by Heima: a blush pink-peach couch contrasts against a seafoam-colored accent chair by Rachelle Dagnalan, and gray accessories.

Clean-lined loft

Instead of going for the expected neutral tones in a condo, interior designer Nikki Audine used a lively tint of peach against the white, built-in furniture.

According to Nikki, the owner “likes industrial but finds it too manly and dark. She also has this idea of country and Shabby Chic interior, but it’s too feminine for her style. [So] I thought of combining the two styles together so I came up with an industrial-country-inspired unit.”
