Coffee is just like chocolate—it's a breakfast staple, it's delicious, and almost everyone loves it. In fact, some can't even go a day without enjoying a hot cup. If you're the type who constantly needs to fuel your day with a little bit of caffeine, why not take the practical route and set up a coffee bar in your kitchen? It's a lot cheaper than going to your local cafe, plus other family members can enjoy it, too. Here's how you can get started:

1. Group similar items together.

Maximize underused counter space by setting up an area where you can make a fresh batch of brew on a daily basis. Make sure it is equipped with powerful coffeemakers and various types of beans to make prep time a piece of cake.

RL Tip: Corral your brewing paraphernalia on a tray to keep the mess in one spot.

2. Throw some decorative elements into the mix.

To make your coffee bar feel less generic, adding a few knickknacks like houseplants, dishes, and glass jars can make it look cozier and more put together.

3. Make use of overhead storage.

If there isn't enough room on your counter for your essentials, you can maximize your hanging shelf as storage for rarely used items like fancy saucers, cups, and silverware.

4. Keep fresh coffee beans in sealed jars.

Prevent your stash from going stale by storing your ground cofee in airtight containers. Most coffee aficionados can attest that coffee tastes better when beans are ground right before brewing!

5. Always have spare mugs on-hand.

You never know when you'll be serving caffeineted concoctions to friends and family. It's best to keep extras in your cupboard in case a warming party comes up—especially during cold Christmas nights!
