It was her unyielding passion for all things antique, old and Pinoy, and her love for anthropology that drove owner Pynky Magsino to establish PNKY Vintage Collection 21 years ago. "PNKY is as old as Panagbenga. It started with just garden furniture at Camp John Hay," she recalls. Since then, the furniture shop has become one of the most famous landmarks in the City of Pines.

Prior to establishing PNKY, Pynky had an antique shop in the 1970s, which she had to close down upon migrating to the United States. But when Baguio was devastated by an earthquake in 1991, Pynky's family moved back to the city and she decided to come back and be with them. She was offered to set up a shop during her stay which she said yes to, and gladly came back into the business.

With all its years in the furniture industry, PNKY has managed true to its goal of showcasing vintage, antique Pinoy pieces made mostly of wood. "It's got to be Filipino. Ninety percent of my inventory is Filipino," she mused. Upon entering the store, furniture pieces made of hardwood will welcome you. These are dressed up with accessories like huge Maranao tops (trumpo), embroided pillows, and ceramic vessels. It is like entering a small museum of prized Filipino artifacts.

Aside from the main store in Baguio, she also maintains a branch in Metro Manila at the second floor of LRI Design Plaza, 210 N. Garcia St., Makati City.

PNKY Vintage Collection is located at Baguio Country Club, Country Club Dr., Baguio City.
