Shop of the Week: Dexterton
This popular home and building material supplier’s new hub is a testament to its commitment to beauty and quality
What first strikes you as you walk into the three-storey building of Dexterton in Bonifacio Global City is the stark difference it has compared to other showrooms and home stores nowadays. Dexter Go, vice president of Dexterton Corporation, explained that this was done entirely on purpose. “This building was designed to be at par with those that I’ve seen abroad, in Hong Kong, in Europe. If you go anywhere in the world, this is how places look like now, this is how they sell.”
The brand had its humble start in Caloocan, selling abrasives and hardware in the ’60s. However, when the time came for Dexter’s father to build his house in the ’80s, he started sourcing the items for it and couldn’t find anything to his liking. He headed to Europe, and eventually brought the items to his store.
The building’s first floor is dedicated to what Dexterton became known for—bathroom fixtures hailing from all over the world. “It’s still our most popular products—the bathroom items, and also the tiles—and we continue to be better known for it.” The brand was one of the first to bring in Grohe and Kohler to the Philippines, and the list grew to include other top names such as Gessi, Laufen, and Hansa, most of of which are exclusively found in Dexterton.
Each area is set up as if you’re stepping into your dream bathroom, complete with glass containers for your toiletries and beautiful decor pieces. Creating different displays was something that Dexter improved on, making sure that the products are showcased according to the changing tastes of loyal clients. The second floor is filled with rows and rows of flooring, tiles, and lighting, with more mini-showrooms displaying how such pieces can work within your home.
Heading up to the third and final floor will take you to pieces intended for rest and relaxation. Dexterton is the only company that officially carries Jacuzzi, and Dexter raves about being able to provide the latest when it comes to hot tubs and whirlpool baths. They also carry Himolla, a brand hailing from Germany, which Dexter says has become popular with those looking for lounge chairs.
The other half is generously dedicated to American furniture brand Caracole. The entire space is a labyrinth filled with high-end pieces fit for any luxury hotel, and are swathed in shades of cream, brown, beige, gold, and gray. Interesting details are worth noting, such as a headboard made out of cow bone, extendable dining tables, and bedside tables with built-in lighting, giving each piece a modern twist.
At Dexterton, inspiration can be found in ever corner, as the brand presents the many possibilities that your home can become.
Dexterton Fort Bonifacio is located at Lot 2 Block 32, North Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. You can call them at 800-7764 or 772-2029.
