The name of this store will have you thinking: Isn’t an armoire too small to contain furniture pieces? But that is the concept of this store—to make it feel like a cabinet that holds not clothes but stylish furniture. When you enter the store, you’ll see huge lighting pieces hanging from the ceiling, chairs in traditional silhouettes peppering all corners, and a creaky floor that makes you feel like you’re stepping into an old house—all these make for Design Armoire’s unique charm.

Here are more interesting details about this new shop at Solenad 3 in Nuvali:

Design Armoire’s owner Marjorie Villanueva has a natural eye for design. She loves fixing up her house and putting things together in order to create stylish spaces.

Design Armoire’s chief of design Martin Manaloto, an interior designer, says they want to incorporate classic pieces in modern homes that are common in this area in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

All the pieces in Design Armoire are made by craftsmen in Pampanga, a province that is known for furniture-making. No wonder these must-haves are all beautifully made and of export quality.

They accept custom orders, too. You just have to wait for 35 to 45 days before you can enjoy your new furniture piece. You can choose from the variety of wood and fabric swatches that they have in order to make your piece you.

They furnished Alta Veranda De Tibig, a Spanish-inspired events venue in Silang, Cavite. The furniture pieces at the house of Abra governor Joy Bernos also came from Design Armoire.

Surprisingly, even teenagers who come into the store appreciate the traditional silhouettes of Design Armoire’s furniture pieces.

Having a store in Manila is one of their future plans. But for now, feel free to pop in at their Nuvali branch and see these beautiful pieces for yourself.

Design Armoire is located at 2/L Solenad 3, Nuvali Evoliving, Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Log on to Design Armoire’s website for more details.
