Set the mood

If you don’t have a poker table, simply lay a piece of green velvet on your dining table. Make sure the chairs are comfortable—you and your friends might be sitting there for some time.

Use scrap paper as confetti

Cut out confetti in the shape of the four suits: hearts, diamonds, spades, and clubs. Scatter them over the poker table for a more festive vibe.

Serve finger food

Prepare food that your friends can eat with their hands—there’s not much room for a full-course meal on a poker table!

Make poker chip coasters

Provide your friends with homemade poker chip coasters for their glasses. Enlarge and print out this coaster template. Cut out the coasters and cover with plastic.

Personalize your plastic cups

Cups and glasses always get mixed up at parties. For this casual get-together, label cups with poker hands: Pair, Straight Flush, and so on. Each cup should have a different label.

Create card standees

Make standees or even a house of cards using giant versions of playing cards. Follow the template and scatter the pieces around the party area.
