Brunch may sound fancy but it doesn't have to be—it's one of those meals that we can have and prepare with minimal effort, usually during weekends. Spoil your family to a beautiful tablescape and all their favorite dishes ordered straight from your go-to breaksfast place with these tips:

1. Prepare the invitations.

Echoing the look of a laidback, rustic-inspired buffet table, try writing the invites on old-school parchment paper, then tuck it in a regular brown envelope. It will give your setup a personal touch, too.

2. It's all about presentation.

Lay off the tablecloth and placemats, and stow the fancy china and dainty cups you always reserve for special feasts. If you aren't cooking, remember to replate food onto simple glass or white ceramic plates and bowls.

3. Keep the decorations simple.

This brunch idea is suitable for those with a limited budget since you almost don't need to buy anything new to spruce up the table. Snip a couple of twigs and pluck some flowers from your backyard and put them in clear vases or little jam jars for color and decoration. When arranged in a basket, an assortment of breads also makes for an appetizing centerpiece.

4. Light a few scented candles to set the ambiance.

Though this is a daytime event, make use of simple candles to ward off insects and enhance the cozy and relaxed vibe. Keeping the space smelling fresh and sweet doesn't hurt, too!

5. Set a dress code with an easy theme.

Ask your guests to come wearing something light and breezy—pretty sundresses for the ladies and preppy pullovers and khakis for the guys.

6. Get into the groove.

Prepare a mix of upbeat tunes that would appeal to oldies and the young ones alike and get them in the mood. Make sure to play the tunes at a volume low enough to allow guests to converse with ease.

7. Don’t forget the party favors.

The take home goodies are as effortless as reheating food in the oven. Wrap packaged meals or baked treats in printed cotton kitchen towels and knot it—ribbons are not even necessary!
