We all love to see how celebrities live; we want to have a glimpse of their luxurious homes, and take a peek at their closets that are full of designer clothes. Most of us have seen this glamorous angle, but did you know that there are celebrities and media personalities who have a down-to-earth side (literally) because they love gardening and plants? Here some of them:

Aubrey Miles

Actress and fitness trainer Aubrey Miles’s Instagram feed is filled with inspirational shots of her lifting weights and planking, but what caught our eyes were photos of the potted plants that fill her beautifully decorated home.

All sorts of plants—from tiny ferns to towering potted trees—fill every corner of her house, and the actress is usually spotted going through various plant centers. Her favorites are fiddle-leaf figs, philodendrons, and large palms.

Paula Peralejo-Fernandez

This mom, former actress, and travel blogger tends a very charming garden in the home she shares with husband Charlie Fernandez. Her favorite spot is the patio, where she can hang her hammock and relax.

Her choices of plants are simple: Norfolk pine, cosmos flowers, crown of thorns, and San Francisco plants. These plant types can be found in most gardening centers.

Korina Sanchez-Roxas

The award-winning journalist shares this sprawling, 400sqm condo unit in Taguig with her husband Mar Roxas. The home has a tastefully decorated lanai that spills over to well-manicured outdoor areas. Korina loves plants, and regularly visits garden centers around the Metro.

Ming Ramos

We may all know her as Amelita Ramos, the former First Lady, but Tita Ming is known amongst Tagaytay habitués as a long-time gardening buff. Ming’s love for gardening all started with a visit to a friend’s house, which was filled with beautiful plants. “Wow, it makes a difference! It softens the surroundings,” she says.

Ming and her husband, the former president Fidel V. Ramos, bought land in Silang, and planted coffee and pineapple at first, and then eventually shifted to ornamental plants. One of the greenhouses was converted to a coffee shop. The coffee shop then became the restaurant Ming's Garden, which can also be used as a venue for functions.

The garden at the back of the restaurant is wonderfully landscaped into trails, ponds, and flowerbeds, and is a delight to walk through. The former First Lady is into bromeliads, and explains that the popular plant is from the pineapple and euphorbia family.

BONUS: Marian Rivera

We can’t help but include Kapuso actress Marian Rivera, as her fondness for flowers inspired her to put up the Flora Vida flower shop. Marian took classes under Danish floral artist Nicolai Bergman, and then put up Flora Vida, which showcases arrangements of beautiful, preserved blooms. We recommend the Plaza de España, a stunning boxed arrangement of perfect roses in blush, burgundy, and red.
