While we can splurge on quality appliances and invest in furniture pieces that wow, a few simple items we can easily find in department stores, home stores, and even book stores can keep the home spic-and-span. If you have a nagging desire to get organized, here are five must-haves to help you tidy up and get your life together:

1. A journal

As much as you want to believe that you won't forget every single thing you need to accomplish in a day, it's better to be safe than sorry. Jot down all your ideas and tasks in a journal or planner to keep you focused on your goals.

2. A purse organizer

We know that your purse can sometimes feel like an endless pit, even if you try to be organized by putting your items in different pouches. And don't even get us started on the hassle of switching bags, especially for special events. We recommend buying a purse organizer to keep you from turning your bag inside out just to find your keys.

You can hang these mini organizers at the back of your door to keep small knickknacks in place.

3. A hanging organizer

Are your shoes are taking over all your floor space? Or maybe you're just having a hard time finding specific items in your closet because they keep getting buried under all your clothes? A hanging organizer is a perfect way to keep all your essentials visible. This may also come in handy if you're organizing bed linen, towels, and your scarves.

 4. A set of hooks

Just like the hanging organizer, placing hooks behind your door or on one wall can open up your already cramped room. Display your hat or bag collection on hooks to keep them in pristine condition.

Find similar hooks at Regalong Pambahay.

5.  A couple of small bowls

Always having a hard time finding your keys, pins, and other important teeny-tiny items? Place small bowls in the foyer, living area, your bedroom, and even in your work corner to keep these loose items in place.

Find small bowls in The Landmark, Makati.
