This one-of-a-kind abode looks like it came straight out of a children's book!

Hidden in the sparse woods of Telkeetna, Alaska is a peculiar structure that has been dubbed as one of America's architectural marvels.

Referred to by the locals as the Dr. Seuss House, the home was originally built by the owner so that he can get a good view of America's tallest mountain, Mt. McKinley, from his window. However, as the trees grew taller and blocked the breathtaking sight, he would add another level to be able to see it again.

After the owner passed away, it sat abandoned for over a decade before a new proprietor, Phillip Weidner, came to restore the place. According to Atlas Obscura, it now stands at 185 feet high with somewhere between 14 and 17 floors. Weidner says the house’s official name is "Goose Creek Tower,” but he calls it his "poem to the sky.”

The house remains a unique sight to behold that visitors of the quaint town can view from the road, but it is no longer open for tourists to explore.
