Mini Makeovers: An Old Dresser transformed for Less than P1,000
Design consultant Elle Uy shares how she turned a drab piece into a lovely must-have
Many homeowners think that improving the home can cost a lot of money. However, this does not always have to be the case! You can examine the things that you already own and make them look new once more. Recycling old pieces is an affordable and environmentally-friendly way to create a better space.
For this special feature, design consultant Elle Uy proves that it is possible to transform a discarded dresser into a perfect piece for the bedroom.
"We had this vanity dresser for as long as I can remember. I didn't really appreciate it that much and I even let my brothers have it for years. However, I eventually learned to like it, especially the pretty details on its frame. Thankfully, our home renovation project gave me the chance to work on the piece."
"I hired a carpenter to place a drawer in the middle, even out the top surface, replace the mirror, and replace the glass door with a solid door."
"I spackled, sanded, primed, and painted the dresser. I also placed new plastic knobs from Ace Hardware."
