According to interior designer Lisa Salvador, a mirror on the wall can "double" the space and make a closet look longer than it is.

Decorator Elle Uy suggests working with only a few functional pieces than a lot of small ones. Consider getting a normal-sized sofa that you can enjoy using then add one accent chair.

  • Curtains with pretty and unique prints can help you save on costs

Given the small space, we need to properly maximize every inch while still having the comforts of the different areas of the house. Interior designer Van Acuna-Solana suggests using curtains with elaborate prints as inexpensive and space-saving alternatives to sliding door panels for closets. They can also serve as accents.

  • Consider having a platform bed and padded headboard

Writer Kathleen Valle shares that a unique headboard and striking wall accent can draw attention to the vertical height instead of the heft of the bed.
