Island Tropical Style for a 24sqm Unit in Makati
The Philippine School of Interior Design graduating students create a relaxing vacation home for a retired couple
What can you do with a 24sqm home? The Philippine School of Interior Design (PSID) graduating students explore the possibilities through Studio 24, an interior design exhibit with 24 different units that measure 24 square meters each.
One of the 24 spaces is a studio unit for a relaxed couple who wanted to have a cozy and comfortable feel in their vacation home. Here are 4 things that can inspire you in this particular space:
The Earth Colors
Graduating students Camille Bernal, Bea Tacalan, Lady Myla Ramos, Monique Lapuz, and Rennea Pili chose an island tropical-style color palette for this home! The rich browns and vibrant greens are ideal for the retired couple's haven.
The Abaca Lamps
Do you want to instantly improve your home? You may want to invest in more lighting fixtures! Beautiful lamps can make any space look more interesting. More importantly, these can also better illuminate your space, making your home look brighter and more appealing.
For this living area, the students selected woven lights that hang above the wooden seats and coffee table.
The U-Shaped Kitchen and Dining Area
The students also opted for a U-shaped kitchen and dining area that has more than enough room for storing, preparing, and enjoying food.
The Inviting Bed
To make the sleeping area appear as if it could belong in a breathtaking resort on a tropical island, the bed is complemented with sheer white drapes. Apart from creating a soothing look, these drapes also provide the homeowners with a sense of privacy.
Studio 24 will run from October 3 to 31, 2015 at the Ronac Lifestyle Center, Paseo de Magallanes, Makati City. Admission is free.
