In the Chinese calendar, 2016 is the year of the Fire Monkey. This energetic wild animal is bound to elicit unexpected outcomes and activate the fire energy all throughout the year.

To prepare the home for the coming year, Feng Shui expert Master Hanz Cua suggests that we use the Flying Star method to identify the lucky and unlucky sectors of the house. Using your smartphone's installed compass application, stand at the center of your home and divide the space according to the directions of the compass.

For 2016, the unlucky sectors are the north, northeast, northwest and center parts of the home. Avoid renovations and repairs here, as it attracts bad luck.

The 5 yellow misfortune star flies at the northeast part of the home, which is expected to bring illness, money and relationship loss, accidents and death. Counter this by avoiding noise and activities at this part of the house, and keeping it free of television sets, speakers, and radios. The youngest son of the family is bound to be the most affected of the misfortune.

In the North part of the house sits the violence star, the star of theft, robbery, betrayal and bloodshed. This could be subdued by placing water elements at this part of the home. Consider aquariums, water fountains or water plants

Make sure not to place any metal-related stuff, or musical instruments such as wind chimes and piano at the northwest part of the home. The argumentative star, which elicits hostility and anger, dominates this sector which provokes fathers the most.

The center of the home is where the illness star flies, and the mother and daughters of the family would be its prime victims. Fire easily enhances here, thus, red colored elements and strong lighting must be avoided at this part of the home to fend off misfortune.

The rest of the home is where the lucky stars fly. The number one victory star flies in the southeast, where competition luck and sales improvement are expected. Writing and signing deals within this part of the home attracts fortune.

In the southwest part of the home flies the money star or where wealth and success are expected. Place the office appliances, including the television set, telephone and computers within this sector as they activate wealth.

The unexpected wealth gain star resides at the south part of the home. Cua suggests sleeping in this part of the house, as staying in this sector activates luck for wealth.

The wealth multiplying star flies in the east part of the house.  If you want to have continuous relationship with your clients and steady referrals, make sure to sign contracts here.

And lastly, the west part of the house activates love luck. Singles are suggested to sleep in this part of the house to find romance, and couples are bound to have a stronger bond. Enhance this by placing four red roses at this part of the house every Friday of the year.
