Transform a Plain Living Area in 4 Quick Steps
A cozy space is attainable with a few adjustments
Decorating a plain space can be daunting—especially if you don't know where and how to begin. The same applies in a rented space! How can you create an inviting space if you are restricted to work on major renovations?
Fortunately, you can have a welcoming space with just the right set of accessories and accent pieces. Here are four easy steps to help you accomplish you mini living area makeover:
Pick the right colors
Bring your living are to life by jazzing it up with patterns and pops of color. To make your room look elegant, stick to a color scheme to avoid the “chopsuey” look. Bright colors like yellow and orange also pop out in a sea of neutrals, so consider getting accessories in these hues.
Complete the look with soft details
Make your living area even cozier by placing soft furnishings such as poufs, rugs, and throws. You can anchor the look with a patterned area rug as this can add warmth and help liven up the space.
Choose colorful pillows
Add the same playful touch to the sofa by decorating it with pillows with prints that complement the rug.
Make use of the vertical space
If your walls are too plain, you can hang an artwork or add wall decals. These decals are very easy to work with—you can add and remove it in a snap.
