But what does each line mean? Do they signify an important factor in your home? A floor plan is an important must-have in any home renovation or construction project.
“A floor plan is an instrument for material takeoff and construction. It is also used for coordinating with various suppliers, and is a permanent record for future expansion," architect Richelle Baria shares. Learn to decode some of the symbols with the help of these basics.
The thick line represents an exterior wall , while the thin line represents an interior wall.
These include the size of your bed—whether its a queen, king, or single size.
These symbols include a round table for four or a rectangular one for six.
These are the usual fixtures for plumbing: water closet, shower, and drain.
These include the cooking range, sink, and refrigerator.
