For the professionals

Changing roof materials.

According to architect Allen Oblena, this might be dangerous especially of the problematic area is on the second floor and has a steep angle. It usually requires two to three persons. Meanwhile, architect Anthony Yan shares that installation of trusses and reinforcements on new roofs must follow a sound architectural and structural design from licensed professionals.

Installation of new ceiling materials and floor finishes.

It's best for professionals to work on this to prevent wastage in materials.

Anthony says that waterproofing consists of harmful chemicals that, if not properly stored and applied, can be harmful to the homeowner and his or her family. Thus, it is best left to a pro. “Waterproofing is also something that you would not want to achieve through trial-and-error,” adds Allen.

Repairing damaged walls.

“Damaged walls, CHB, and plastering installation must be done by an experienced mason to ensure durability,” says Anthony.

Simple home repair tasks that you can do on your own:
  • Basic repainting
  • Furniture repair
  • Application of grout on tiles
  • Repairing small holes on the roof
  • Installation of weather strips on windows
  • Application of sealants on wall cracks
