If you’re looking for a nearby weekend staycation getaway or a place to stay for your friend from abroad, The Henry Hotel Manila will be perfect. Located at 2680 F.B. Harrison Street in the same compound as fashion designer Jojie Lloren’s atelier, Eric Paras’s a11 showrooms, and Avellana Art Gallery, The Henry Hotel has that charm that stems from visual delights and nostalgia.

The name “Henry” was chosen for this boutique hotel because it represents a gracious host, someone who is worldly, sophisticated, and a lover of art and design. And The Henry Hotel Manila definitely isn’t lacking in the art and design department. A driveway leads to the main house where the hotel’s center, restaurant and bar, and the owner’s suite are located. When you look out on the balcony of the owner’s suite, you’ll see a garden attributed to National Artist for Landscape Architecture Ildefonso P. Santos. Palmera, santan, lantana, and champaca plants in the garden make the outdoors idyllic, as if you’re not in a busy city like Manila.

The hotel interiors are just as impressive, as it is designed by Eric Paras, who is a known interior and furniture designer. Come in and be greeted by floors decked in charming machuca tiles, light and breezy rooms, and big, wrought iron windows that lend a view of the garden. The Post-war structure will bring you back in time and will probably trigger a happy memory as if you’re in your grandmother’s house or your parents’ family home.

The Henry Hotel Manila has 34 rooms of three types: the 27sqm Classic Room (which is the hotel’s standard room); the 54sqm Suite Room that includes an ante-room and a private garden area, among other features; and the 62sqm Owner’s Suite that includes an ante-room and a balcony.

The Henry Hotel Manila may not be a grand hotel located in a commercial district, but that is where its beauty lies. It is an oasis, a kind of sanctuary, where you can simply rest, abandon your worries, and spend some time away from the hustles of city life.

The Henry Manila is located at 2680 FB Harrison St. Pasay City. For reservations, please contact tel. (02) 807-8888; email reservations.manila[at]thehenryhotel.com. Log on to www.thehenryhotel.com. Follow The Henry Hotel on Facebook and Instagram.
