Fab Ideas For Your Headboard

A tufted one isn't your only option

Headboards can enhance the look of your bedroom. They can become excellent focal points, especially if they are unique or exquisitely made. Some beds already come with headboards, but that shouldn't limit you from experimenting. Here are some ideas:

1. Use decals or wall stickers.

We don't just mean decals in a form of the headboard. Use stickers that reflect your personality or interests. You can even use it as basis for the color scheme of your bedroom.

2. Put a striking pattern.

You can have a panel made with a pattern that you love, such as this black and white checkers in this bedroom. It makes for a show-stopping focal point.

3. Or put a plain headboard against a patterned wall.

If the bed you bought already came with a headboard, jazz it up by decking your wall with wallpaper and have your bed lean against it. This way, your headboard won't look drab or boring.

4. Experiment with typography.

If cutesy wallpapers don't appeal to you, why not try decking your wall with typography? It can make your bedroom look hip and edgy. Consider working with a quote or words you love. You can have typography decals custom-made at Mesh Decorative Decals.

5. Repurpose an old door into a headboard.

An old door makes for a charming focal point in a space, more so if it is used as a headboard. Take a cue from this bedroom—an old barn door is made into a headboard. It adds warmth and texture to the space.
