DIY: How To Create Butterfly Stickers
Add a bit of whimsy to your plain wall with this easy-to-do project
Hanging framed decor or putting decals are among the many ways you can spruce up a blank wall. But if you have some scrap materials and a bit of time on your hands, why don't you try creating your own DIY decor? It's simple and easy. Here's how:
- black and white fabric
- double-sided tape
- fabric glue
- bond paper
- Make a pattern of the design you want. In this project, we used butterflies. Draw the outline of a butterfly on bond paper. Make it in three different sizes for variety.
- Use the bond paper pattern to trace the design on the black and white fabric. Cut the fabric.
- Using a fabric glue or double-sided tape, stick the fabric onto the acetate. Cut according to its shape.
- Stick the butterflies to the wall. You can make as many stickers as you want. You can also use foam tape to have a layered or 3D effect.
RL Tip: Use a variety of black and white prints for added interest. Mix blank frames with the butterflies, but follow a single color palette for a more cohesive look. Here, we used a black-white-yellow color palette.
