DIY Earring Tree
Transform an old tree branch into a pretty organizer for your earrings
An old tree branch can be used to organize your accessories! If you're feeling extra creative, this project can also be a fun way to display your wallet-sized photos.
- Tree branch
- Spray paint (glossy white)
- Unused tin can
- Mighty Bond
- Hammer and nail
- Pebbles or stones
- A sheet of old newspaper
- Old, unused chopping board
- Pruning shears or big knife
Cut a branch from a tree or pick up a fallen one in your backyard. Choose one that has several twigs so you have more space to hang your earrings.
Remove the leaves and cut excess twigs. Wash the branch in running water to remove dirt. Let it dry overnight.
Spray paint the branch with the can a few centimeters away, making sure that paint is evenly distributed. Place it on a sheet of newspaper and let dry thoroughly.
Place the lid of the can on the chopping board. Using a nail and a hammer, make a hole on the lid of the can. Insert the end of the branch into the hole. Secure with Mighty Bond and let dry.
Fill the can with pebbles or stones to make a sturdy base for your tree. Put back the lid with the branch glued onto it.
Start hanging your lighter earrings on the thinner twigs, and heavier accessories on the stronger ones.
Tip: You can also display your wallet-sized photos on the twigs. Secure them with little wooden pegs.
