5 Decorating Tips from a Living Room in Taguig

Give your living room a makeover with this practical guide

Many homeowners think that decorating can take up too much time, money, and effort. However, you can improve your personal space without putting a strain on your schedule, budget, and lifestyle. If you would like to try it out first, you can start by working on your living room.

Whether you are residing in a small condo or a spacious multi-storey house, here are useful tips that will help you change your living room (and the rest of your home) today.

Choose a color scheme.

Clueless about interior design? If you pick the colors first, it will be easier for you to choose the furniture and decor. For a modern look, you can try a neutral shade paired with a bright color. You can use the neutral shade (for the bigger pieces, like the sofa) and the bright color as an accent hue.

For this living room, interior designer Van Acuna chose a gray-and-yellow palette.

Start with the basics.

Before anything else, you should remember the six essentials that should be present in most living areas: a sofa, an occasional chair, a coffee table, a side table, an area rug, and a lamp.

For this space, Van chose a gray couch, a yellow reproduction Egg chair, a black side table, a printed area rug, and a gray floor lamp.

Create a focal point.

Since the living area is the space that welcomes family, friends, and other guests into your home, it sets the standard for the rest of your dwelling. You can make a good first impression with an interesting corner. To do this, simply place a console table against one wall and adorn it with artwork, decor, and personal mementos.

Place additional seats.

If you love to entertain, a few extra chairs in the living room can come in handy. Just like Van, you may choose black wing chairs for a touch of drama and elegance.

Don't forget the details.

Once you've chosen the necessities, you can pick out your furnishings and decor. If you keep your chosen colors in mind, this can be a breeze. Just remember that you don't need to choose everything all at once! You can furnish your living area (and the other parts of your home) one beautiful piece at a time.
