How To:
  1. Clean glass jars of labels and dirt. Wipe the jars dry. Cover the neck of the jar with masking tape. Lay old newspapers on your work area to keep mess at bay.
  2. Spray paint the base coat on your glass jars. Make sure to hold the spray can a few inches away from the jars for an even coat. Move your hand in horizontal motions as you spray. Spray three to five coats, letting each coat dry in between applications. Then, spray three to five coats of white paint on the jar.
  3. With a brush, apply a thin coat of modgepodge at the back of your chosen cutout. Paste the cutout carefully on the painted body of the jar. Smooth out and pat the cutout to make sure there is no air or bubbles underneath, or else it will wrinkle.
  4. With a brush, apply a thin coat of modgepodge on top of the cutout and all over the painted body of the jar. The modgepodge will act as sealant to the decoupaged cutout. Apply three to five coats, letting each coat dry in between applications.
  5. Apply clear varnish if desired. You may also add ornaments around the neck of the jar.
