Make your reading corner stand out. - Paint the inside of your bookcase a bright color so all your books will stand out and you’ll remember to keep that area uncluttered.

- Don’t overstuff your shelves. You’ll have a hard time finding specific books and this will cause your shelves to sag. A well-arranged bookshelf can serve as décor, too.

- Add accessories. Mix in decorative pieces to break the monotony of books on the shelf.

- Plop a couple of pillows or add a chair next to your bookcase so the next time you pass this corner, you’ll want to sit down, take a break, and read.

- Don’t forget to have proper lighting. Position your reading area near a window and have a lamp ready beside your chair.

You may source for pieces that will complete your reading area when you visit SM Homeworld and Our Home. For a list of suppliers that you can tap, visit https://www.realliving.com.ph/directory.
Be creative. If you're feeling extra creative and you want your reading corner to be unique, you may choose not to paint the shelf and try color on the books instead. Cover each book with matching paper, put the book title in front, and see how they become unified in an instant.

Solid colors will work best but if you want a print, opt for bold patterns that will pop out more.
You may choose a paint alternative. If you’re not ready to paint your furniture, try using gift wrappers or fabric—they’ll do the same trick with minimal damage.
