Color Combo: Watermelon and Green
Get a kick out of your home décor with this juicy palette
The right fruity shade of pinkish-orange-red and tangy gradations of lime-to-leaf green all call to mind visions of sunny days, thatched-roof homes, and a long, tall drink—perfect for our tropical climes.
Habitat’s 2016 collection is tropical and all that. This collection features rattan reworked into clean, modern forms, multi-colored designer textiles woven in India, handmade ceramics, and sunny dinnerware. And all of these are mostly in shades of watermelon and green—making us miss summer. Here are some photos for inspiration.
This teak dining set looks fresh and crisp against a cool, Kelly green wall. A woven multi-striped Abbie rug cuts through the neutral wood tones.
This minimalist Lucia metal bed breaks out the modern mold by being dipped in bright green. Juxtaposed against the gray linen are eye-popping Jepsen cushion and multi-striped Cabana rug.
The Joelle picnic rug is a merry mix of tropical prints and colors (this can also be used as tablecloth). The Sabenta platter looks like the cross-section of dragonfruit.
Setting the whole scene is this very beautiful, woven Akano picnic rug (you can use it as a small area rug, too) which complements the graphic Sabenta platters and melon-colored Nadi plates.
Industrial-style pieces can still look tropical, as seen in the Galet and Isra cement stools and tables, especially when paired with the Joelle picnic rug and Porta cushions.
