Boho Meets Rustic for Anne Curtis and Erwan Heussaff’s Wedding

The breathtaking beauty of Queenstown, New Zealand served as the perfect background as they exchange I Dos

Busy refreshing your social media feeds for updates on the Anne-Erwan wedding? You’re not alone. Aside from falling in love with the sights New Zealand has to offer, we can’t help but admire the laidback feel of the couple’s milestone, too. 

It’s safe to say that the whole affair was Pinterest-worthy—from the Coachella vibe of the pre-wedding party to the rustic touches of the wedding and reception. Check out some of the details we noted, all thanks to #TheWanforAnne hashtag:

Guests were treated to a chill welcome dinner that’s reminiscent of music festivals. Not only were they given a taste of New Zealand’s culture (a traditional Haka dance was performed), food and drinks were also overflowing.

The welcome dinner took place at Trelawn Place, a well-known accommodation provider in New Zealand. Friends and family happily posed for photographs with the beauty of nature as background.

To complete the Coachella-like vibe, there was a vintage camper/bar serving refreshments.

Ater doing a bit of research, we discovered that Trelawn Place has been a preferred venue for weddings and other events because of the picturesque view and relaxing riverside location.

The place looks straight out of a fairy tale, with charming cottages completing the country look.

For the big day, the couple chose to exchange ‘I dos’ in an outdoor setting. Found in Southland, New Zealand, Thurlby Domain is a sweet spot with an old-world charm featuring tons of trees, lush greenery, and ruins that completed the rustic-inspired wedding. 

Wooden chairs were carefully lined up and spruced up with blooms.

In one video posted online, we were also able to spot a door decorated with beautiful flowers. All the details chosen for the ceremony follow a rustic and a bit of an old-fashioned feel.

The guests of the couple were treated to an unforgettable tour while witnessing their special day.

To get to the reception venue, they had to board the TSS Earnslaw. According to Wikipedia, it is an Edwardian vintage twin screw steamer that plys the waters of Lake Wakatipu and is considered as a tourist attraction.

After a 40-minute boat ride, guests were welcomed at the Walter Peak High Country Farm.

Another famous attraction in Queenstown, the place is known for its lakeside setting, the Colonel’s Homestead, and the different activities it offers such as the walking tour of the farmyard, feeding sheep, and getting up close and personal with deer and Scottish Highland cattle, to name a few.

The gardens were furnished to accommodate guests while waiting for Mr. and Mrs. Heussaff. 

A cozy rug, a few pillows, and wired seating pieces were just some of the accessories we were able to spot. Since it’s cold in New Zealand, we’re sure that the guests relished getting warmed up for the wedding party.

Inside the Colonel’s Homestead, guests had to search for their respective tables. Since Anne and Erwan loved attending music festivals, the tables were named after the festivals they’ve been to like Coachella, Glastonbury, and Reading, to name a few.

A famous venue for different events, the Colonel’s Homestead highlights a country-rustic appeal.


Aside from the wooden tables and chairs, it also has high ceilings, a skylight, and chandeliers that add a luxurious touch. According to a Queenstown website, the Colonel’s Homestead also showcases expansive lakeside gardens and scenic views that add to its old-world charm.

For Anne and Erwan’s special day, the wooden tables were left simple and bare—with only a few candles and a floral setup as centerpiece. Meanwhile, the Presidential table features a pink table runner to define it from the rest.

The blooms chosen for the centerpiece follows Anne’s pretty bouquet of red and white flowers.
