You’ve got the flowers, the chocolate, and the wine—how else can you surprise your significant other this Valentine’s Day? A bedroom filled with love and unexpected details will surely make him or her blush! Get your creativity ready and be inspired to work on any of these sweet and mushy decorating ideas:

1. Say it with a wall decal.

The best part about sharing the home with your partner is you get to wake up next to each other. Treat each day as a new beginning and another opportunity to make memories! Liven up the wall with your favorite quote, a lyric from your theme song, or even a line from your wedding vows.

RL Tip: Different stickers are availabe at home stores and depots. You can also have a customized design! Click here to get started.

2. Show your love through pillows and decor.

If you're planning to give something useful and unique this V-Day, why not invest in fluffy and comfortable pillows? He or she would surely appreciate a bedroom that's extra snug! While you're at it, make sure you look for a hip and cool decor, too. A LOVE light box can add a quirky touch to the room as well as give it a moody vibe.

3. Lighten up with charming accessories.

Do you bond over intense basketball games? How about indulging in a friendly competition before calling it a day? Install a mini basket on one wall and prepare a small ball. Set the rules and have fun—you can even agree on the prizes and consequences. Consider assigning the chores to the loser and a free spa day as a reward for the winner.

RL Tip: Find a similar mini basketball set at Toys 'R Us, L4 Shangri-La Mall, EDSA, Mandaluyong City.

4. Give the ordinary potted plant a twist.

Make the Day of Hearts extra special by working on a quick DIY project! Buy your partner's favorite blooms and a small terracotta pot. Paint the pot in your chosen color—white adds a sweet and dainty feel—and use it to display the flowers. You can also use it to spruce up a dull side table.

5. Showcase photographs and love letters.

Do you still have the love letters and postcards you've given each other? Instead of keeping it inside the drawer, why not bring out some of your favorites and use it to decorate a blank wall? Use a louvered window for this purpose. Paint it in a color that matches your walls and hang it by the bed, above the side table. Insert the letters into the slats and be reminded of fun times every day.

RL Tip: You can buy a louvered window at Wilcon Depot. Click here for a list of branches.

6. Prepare the ultimate treat tray.

While you can go all out for a classic breakfast in bed, why not prepare a different tray instead? Work on a pampering treat—a tray filled with scented candles, essential oils, and a pot of lavender; or a sweet tray filled with chocolates, donuts, and candies. If you're feeling a bit sentimental, you can set up a special vignette, too! Fill the tray with a framed photograph that you love, a succulent, and a handwritten letter. Be creative and work with the things you both enjoy.
