Airbnb of the Week: Balai Bed and Breakfast Baguio

This getaway is worth the trip!

Shares

Some say it's the cool weather, the towering pine trees, and the sights to see that make Baguio one of the go-to places when one simply wants to get away from the city. Even if it's just a few hours from my hometown, I still get ecstatic each time I visit the City of Pines. It feels like there's always something new and exciting that's waiting to be discovered and experienced.

During a recent trip to the city, my family and I decided to stay in a rental home. We stumbled upon Balai Bed and Breakfast Baguio and I can truly say that I fell in love with the place. The three-storey property features a laid-back vibe that's perfect if you're really looking forward to a sweet sojourn. If you're planning to visit Baguio soon, make sure you keep Balai in mind when it comes to finalizing your itinerary. Here are four more reasons why a stay in this home away from home is worth it:

Relaxing environment

Balai is located in a quaint residential area near Marcos Highway. Since it's only a 10-minute drive away from SM Baguio and Burnham Park, it gives guests the chance to enjoy a peaceful ambience that's quite near the city proper.

Perfect for families

This B&B features two family rooms, a queen room, and a double room. If you're traveling with a big group, you can stay in the house and have it to yourselves during your stay.

Cozy fireplace

This architectural structure gives the place a cozy, rustic touch that we only see in movies and foreign homes. You can roast marshmallows during nights when you want to exchange stories and stay indoors.

Country-inspired style made from local materials

Balai B&B is owned by mother and daughter tandem, Ross and Tess. Since they love to travel, they took note of a couple of design ideas and put it to good use during the construction period of Balai.

Given these foreign inspirations, Tess made sure that the house stays a hundred percent Pinoy by working with locally available materials such as Baguio pink stones and pinewood for the fireplace. They also used twigs and pine cones as decor in the living area.
