A 24sqm Unit for a College Student in Makati
The Philippine School of Interior Design graduating students celebrate the beauty of French Rococo style in this small space
What can you do with a 24sqm home? The Philippine School of Interior Design (PSID) graduating students explore the possibilities through Studio 24, an interior design exhibit with 24 different units that measure 24 square meters each.
One of the 24 spaces is a studio unit meant for a college student! The compact area is defined by the French Rococo design elements with modern contemporary touches. Here are the 5 things that impressed us in this bachelorette pad:
The Gray Walls
Although white is the most popular wall color, our favorite shade for the home would have to be gray! Gray could serve as the perfect backdrop for practically every kind of space. It also looks unexpectedly chic and elegant.
The White Boiserie
We also love the white boiserie — the white sculptured paneling that looks like oversized frames on the gray walls! These dainty touches are classic French Rococo elements and instantly make the gray walls more interesting.
The Oakwood Daybed
Students Marie Tabujara, Kristine Singh, Kayea Gawaran, and Reginee Barlaan opted for an oakwood daybed — this multipurpose piece can be used as a sofa and a bed! It is complemented with a tufted headboard and sheer drapes.
The Louis XVI Chairs
How can you update a traditional piece? Be inspired by these old-fashioned chairs that are painted white and upholstered with plain fabric.
The Dining Area
We also like the tall dining table paired with two dining chairs that have intricate carvings, lime green upholstery, and cabriole legs.
Studio 24 will run from October 3 to 31, 2015 at the Ronac Lifestyle Center, Paseo de Magallanes, Makati City. Admission is free.
