For many, monoblock chairs are considered disposable furniture and it won't matter much if it gets ruined. While that may be true, it wouldn't hurt to treat it with care to get your money's worth out of it. Here are a few helpful tips that can help you do that:

  • Use rubber footpads on plastic seating if you’re using it on top of marble and other slippery flooring. This will keep the floor and your chairs scratch-free.
  • Keep it away from sunlight and strong artificial light as much as you can, especially if it’s a colored piece that will tend to fade faster.
  • Plastic deteriorates from wear and tear, especially with constant exposure to elements like the wind and abrasive elements like sand. Inspect regularly for cracks and abrasion.
  • Lift to move it; never drag to keep the material from stretching.
  • Do not drop and avoid toppling stacked chairs over to keep it from breaking.
  • Do not overload. Use chairs only for sitting, and not as ladders. Manufacturers will usually indicate the weight a chair can take.
  • Don’t slouch! Improper seating will have the piece bearing weight where it was not designed for.
  • Use clean, absorbent cloth for wiping down. Clean them at least once a week.
  • When packing your monoblocks, use uncolored paper, preferably acid-free tissue to keep it from fading.
