Full-time traveler and part-time travel agency manager at Our Restless Feet Travel and Tours Paula Peralejo-Fernandez has been traveling to domestic and international destinations since 2006. When she is in town, the former actress loves redecorating her home, working on DIY projects, and buying pots for her garden

Here are the 9 things that Paula loves in her home and beyond:

Favorite Home Accessory

“The table runners made of jute sacks that my niece made for my wedding. It makes anything look prettier!”

Favorite Area in the House

“This is a tough one. I’d say the indoor dining area because I get to change its look every so often. I also like the patio, especially when I hang my hammock because I really feel relaxed.”

Favorite Object on the Night Table

“Lamp, books, and gadgets. I use my lamp to read books at night. When I have a soft copy of the same book, I use my gadgets.”

Favorite Home Gadget

“I love using my husband’s bluetooth speakers. That, mixed with my favorite mixes on 8tracks, really gives me a happy, productive day.”

Favorite Home Scent

“Since our windows are always open, I hardly get to leave any scent on, but the plumeria linen spray I have remains to be my favorite scent at home. I use it mostly for sheets and fabrics, but I also like using it for my bathroom or office sometimes.”

Favorite Home Design Books

"Believe it or not, I own very few home design books, and when I say few, I mean less than ten. I like the Icons series the best—I have the African, Egypt, and Mexico style for this series.”

Available at Fully Booked, Bonifacio High Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, www.fullybookedonline.com

Favorite Pick-Me-Up Treat

“When I feel tired, I take a break and I pick up some materials and start making rubberstamps or practice typography. I also look at my dining area and start changing the current look.”

Find various art materials at Deovir, 3/L SM North EDSA, Quezon City

Favorite Recycling Trick

“Be creative in using something. Don’t limit yourself to using it solely for its original use. You can use old shoes or bags as planters; milk bottles as vases, vegetable oil containers as water sprinklers, bedsheets as table covers.”

Favorite Travel Destination

“This is the hardest question of all. I like Hanoi, Vietnam a lot for home accents. It has the perfect mix of affordability and style. I love the vibe of their cafes and the Old Quarter.”
