What completes a functional and inviting bathroom? Having enough space and keeping the toiletries organized are two important factors, while a fresh scent is a welcome plus. Keeping it clean may take an hour or less, but finding time to actually work on a few tasks can be challenging. To help you revamp your loo even in just a few minutes, here are must-dos you can follow:

1. Distribute plastic bins and caddies to every member of the family.

Since we're sharing the bathroom with the rest of the family, it's important to have a caddy for each person where he or she can keep a set of toiletries and other essentials. You can color code it or add names. Keep these on a shelf or inside a small cabinet that can fit inside your T&B.

Find similar containers at SM Department Store or The Landmark, Makati City.

2. Transfer your shampoo, conditioner, hand soaps, and sanitizers into pretty bottles.

Why decorate your counter with plastic bottles when you can have glass pieces that add a sophisticated touch? These bottles can serve as decor and can help you save on essentials as well. Buy in bulk and simply refill the bottles when needed.

Find similar bottles at Regalong Pambahay Outlet Store at FMF Business Center, Level C, 126 Pioneer Street, Mandaluyong City.

3. Line up chic glasses you can use when brushing teeth.

Do you have a shelf in your bathroom? Maximize it by using it to store uniformed glasses you and the rest of the family can use. Make sure the glasses are clean and dry before you keep them.

4. Work with pretty trays.

Keep things accessible and organized by having all of the essentials you use on a daily basis on one tray. It will take less than five minutes for you to gather everything you need and arrange it nicely to create a simple vignette. Add a scented candle or a small potted plant to complete the look.

5. Prep some refreshing scents.

Keep your bathroom smelling fresh with scented candles and aromatherapy oils. Choose calming scents like lavender, citrus, and eucalyptus. Place these by the counter or make it part of your vignette.

6. Invest in storage must-haves and a few upgrades.

Even if your bathroom is small, you can still turn it into a relaxing retreat. After doing the first five tips, make sure you have extra baskets, bins, and other catchalls. You'll never know when you would need one or when guests would arrive.

Thinking of a simple T&B upgrade? Consider getting a new ornate mirror or a bath mat. You can also add wall accents to add a pop of color.
