Here are fun ideas that you can do:

Make an instant terrace.

Do you have a shady but neglected outdoor space? Turn it into an instant terrace. Bring out some lounging furniture, a side table, and a good book. Now put your feet up and relax the afternoon away.

Create vibrant decorations.

Adding wall decorations in bright, cheery colors will instantly put you in a happy mood. These easy pieces are made out of inexpensive gift-wrapping paper and cartolina.

Beat the heat with Anahaw!

While you are at the Quiapo “Ilalim ng Tulay” or at the native goods stall of your palengke, snap up a bunch of these affordable anahaw fans. Lay them out on a pretty tray on the floor for everyone to just grab for some active cooling.

Cultivate plants.

Flowering plants are an inexpensive way to add freshness to any space. Hang them on your porch or eaves beneath your roofs.

Work with a color scheme.

Thinking about a color scheme for your outdoor space? Just look around your garden and match it with your plants and flowers. You will be delighted at how nature’s colors effortlessly blend with each other.

Fix your garden.

Get your hands dirty on a garden project. Perhaps a pocket garden to get you started? Get tips from books and magazines and don’t be afraid to doodle and sketch your ideas. Add cool sounds.

The sound of wind chimes on a hot day is always cooling and relaxing. Hang them in an area where there is cross ventilation—like in your terrace or by a window.
