7 Things to Love About This Country-Style Home in Laguna
Discover what we appreciated the most in this two-storey house of a young family
The building or renovating process is always a special experience for every homeowner! The process becomes even more memorable when you work closely with someone you love. In this case, homeowner Christine Hernandez-Limaco was glad to build the home of her dreams with the help of her father, architect Florante “Jun” Hernandez.
Here are the 7 things that impressed us the most in this country-style house in Laguna:
Blue-and-white stripes run the length of the walls surrounding the living, dining, and kitchen areas. The living area is furnished with a long sofa with a plain white slipcover.
The space is completed with a pair of Louis XIV-inspired chairs with a rustic, distressed finish from Lucina Home.
The column in between the living and dining areas is spruced up with charming suitcase-inspired shelves. Christine reveals that she hand-carried these wall-mounted shelves from Thailand.
The dining area is furnished with Windsor chairs in white, blue, green, yellow, and pink, also from Lucina Home.
The blue-and-white wall, whitewashed cabinets, and dainty cabinet handles make the kitchen more interesting.
To provide a refreshing respite from the blue-and-white color scheme of the first floor, the powder room has baby pink walls. These walls are complemented by the wall mirror frame from Wilcon Depot and the custom-made sink pedestal from a Tagaytay furniture store.
If you live in a multi-storey house, you may have a space between the two floors of your family home. Instead of leaving it bare and empty, you can also turn it into a work, study, and play area.
For this particular spot, Christine chose wall-mounted shelves and a built-in desk. A built-in desk will help you save on space.
There are wall stickers of a street lamp next to a pair of birds and three cats. The street lamp looks adorable and also actually lights up! You just plug it in and it immediately illuminates the hallway.
The tufted headboard, floral bedspread, and white sidetable make the master bedroom feel cozy and comfortable.
