6 Ways to Dehumidify Your Home

Moisture in the air causes humidity which then leads to damaged furniture, peeling paint, and high electricity bills. Aside from these negative effects, it also causes mold, mildew and other allergic reactions.
This summer, the home is warmer than usual because of too much humidity. With a couple of adjustments and easy practices, you can dehumidify your space. Let the tips below guide you.

- Install exhaust fans in small and cramped areas like the kitchen and bathroom to let air circulate.
- Prevent musty odors by regularly cleaning closets and cabinets. You may also try using baking soda! Pour some baking soda into a bowl then cover it with non-woven cloth. Place the bowl in your closet, kitchen cabinets, and under the sinks.
- During the hottest parts of the day, open your windows to allow air to circulate.

- Turn off lights and unplug appliances when not in use.
- Keep your furnishings dry. If one of your pieces accidentally got wet, make sure you dry it as soon as possible. This goes for your mattress as well. Make sure you air out your mattress regularly—at least once a month.
