6 Things to Love About this Modern House in Nasugbu, Batangas
Discover what we admire the most in this three-storey home in the province
Homeowners Sean and Cynthia O’Sullivan built their dream house together in Nasugbu, Batangas. Cynthia worked with her Philippine School of Interior Design classmate, architect Dan Co, to create a modern contemporary home.
The three-storey property is filled with sleek lines, clear glass and stainless steel materials, and white elements complemented by bright colors.
Most beach houses have rustic tropical elements. However, this particular home is an exception — it has a modern contemporary look. The exteriors of the home reflect the unique design style of this Batangas property.
The living area is furnished with a fully-upholstered, sectional L-shaped sofa with a matching armchair. In the middle of the space is a coffee table resting on a gray shag rug.
Cynthia designed the kitchen cabinets for this particular space. All of the cabinets were supposed to be red, but some surprisingly turned orange because of the salty, humid air at the beach home.
The unplanned combination of red and orange cabinets makes the cooking corner look even more interesting.
Who wouldn't love to dine in this spectacular dining room? The floor-to-ceiling windows provide the family and their guests with breathtaking views of the nearby beach.
Since the bed faces the bedroom window, Sean and Cynthia always wake up to a majestic view of the sky and sea. The inside of the master bedroom is almost as grand as the great outdoors. The master bedroom has whitewashed walls, white floor tiles, white bedsheets, and red details.
If you look closely, you can see the en suite bathroom enclosed with clear glass panels.
Just like the rest of the house, the master bathroom has a white-and-red color scheme. The white walls, bathroom counter, bathtub, and toilet are complemented by red towels and accessories.
