6 Leading Ladies’ Bedrooms

Bea Alonzo, Heart Evangelista, Carla Abellana, Anne Curtis, Iza Calzado, and Kim Chiu show off their personal spaces

What do actresses Bea Alonzo, Heart Evangelista, Carla Abellana, Anne Curtis, Iza Calzado, and Kim Chiu have in common? They’ve all been blessed with stunning faces that we see on TV and movie screens, magazine covers, and billboards. More than being the stars of the most popular TV shows and biggest blockbuster hits, they are also sought-after endorsers for local and international brands.

For this special feature, we check out the spaces that reveal these fabulous ladies’ personalities the most: their stylish and comfortable bedrooms.

Bea Alonzo

In the Quezon City home designed by Jeizele delos Reyes-Go, the Kapamilya star’s bedroom has a timeless, elegant style updated with modern pieces. Just like the rest of the house, the neutral color scheme is complemented by shiny glass and metallic accessories. An accent wall highlights the queen-size bed with a classic wingback headboard. The bed is paired with a tufted bench and an area rug.

Heart Evangelista

The sweet and romantic side of the soon-to-be Mrs. Chiz Escudero is seen in her bedroom. In the middle of the room with a classic Victorian look is a walnut-stained four-poster bed with intricate carvings. The bed is flanked by a pair of identical side tables adorned with matching lamps.

Facing her bed is a vanity area completed by a Tres Marias (three-way) mirror that her dad gave her. The mirror is placed on a cabinet with mirrored panels.

Carla Abellana

In this three-storey, four-bedroom townhouse in Quezon City, the 28-year-old Kapuso leading lady finds comfort in her own private sanctuary. A soft shade of blue is used on the walls for a calm and tranquil feel. It also serves as the perfect backdrop for the white furniture pieces that are all custom-made. These pieces include a bed, a pair of side tables, a floor lamp, and a tufted chaise lounge.

This white tufted chaise lounge was custom-made to Carla’s specifications. “Doon sa pinagpapagawaan namin ng furniture, sila ang nag-suggest niyan. ’Tapos, sabi ko, may apat na paa.”

Anne Curtis

Designed by renowned interior designers Ivy and Cynthia Almario, the home of the 29-year-old Fil-Australian actress has a classic style with contemporary touches. The same look is seen in her traditional bedroom fit for a modern-day princess. Just like any princess, Anne sleeps in a custom-made canopy bed with sheer organza curtains. Near the bed is a window seat covered in stuffed toys and throw pillows.

A bathroom is located in the master bedroom. A wraparound shower curtain opens to reveal an old-fashioned clawfoot bathtub. A rainfall shower head hangs over the piece.

Iza Calzado

With the help of interior designer Anna Leah Hernandez, Iza Calzado’s home showcases a modern eclectic Filipino style. In the master bedroom, lace curtains and a suede headboard spruce up the bed from Johansen Furniture. The bed is matched with a pair of Kai O lamps by Kenneth Cobonpue on Design Ligna side tables.

Both sides of the bed also have framed cherry blossom prints because Iza and her late mother have a fondness for this particular flower. The area is connected to a bamboo lounge perfect for relaxing.

Kim Chiu

On April 6, 2011, the Kapamilya sweetheart moved into a house built on a 600sqm corner lot in an exclusive Quezon City subdivision. Her bedroom is unique because it is divided into two floors, complete with a living area and a staircase that leads to the bed and bath areas. The living area of the bedroom is furnished with a gray sofa facing a flat-screen TV. The area underneath the stairs was converted into a mini home office with a work desk for Kim’s computer. The Fil-Chinese beauty also keeps her sunglasses and the expensive perfumes given by her fans in this space. Another collection of hers – designer bags from Chanel, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Prada and Goyard – is also kept in the same area.

The second level is furnished with a study table, two side tables, and a custom-made oversized bed. The bed is paired with a hot pink tufted headboard and pillows in shades of pink and violet. Two bears from former onscreen partner Gerald Anderson rest on the floral bedcover by Mema Alberto. More flower prints can be found on the curtains and a series of paintings by artist Chico Javier.
