The industrial style has been gaining a following and it's not surprising. It's quite easy to achieve and maintain—and with the right accessories, you can achieve a home that's not only put-together, it has character and personality, too. However, some may think that this style is too strong and raw. Truth be told, you can make it feel homey with a few vignettes that serve as focal points. Take inspiration from these clever corners:

Pair white and wood for a subdued setup.

In this Scandi-industrial 50sqm unit, interior designer Wilmer Lopez and the owner collaborated to complete the space. To tone down the industrial touches, walls were done in white while open shelves keep belongings and collections organized.

If you're working on your own vignette, take your cue from this setup by limiting the number of items you put on display. To make it interesting, display pieces with hints of color to go against the white walls and light-colored shelves.

Add hints of green to keep it fresh and pleasing to the eyes.

Who wouldn't notice this fascinating wall-mounted shelf spruced up with faux leaves? It perfectly combines industrial elements, tropical-inspired details, and personal must-haves. If you also want to have a green corner at home without actually starting a garden, this also a welcome alternative. Liven up the shelves with potted plants and succulents.

Anchor the look using a focal point.

It's common to see cement and brick walls in industrial-inspired spaces. If you're going for something similar, create functional vignettes by carving out storage nooks and creating gallery walls. In this 38sqm unit, the owners and the designer used the painted brick wall as backdrop for a shelf filled with books and framed travel photographs.

Maximize an empty wall.

Many industrial homes sport an unfinished look featuring cement walls that give it a raw vibe and edgy character. Achieve a simple and easy vignette by creating a makeshift foyer using wall art and hooks by your door. In this condo unit, a bicycle adds a personalized touch—and since it's in a light hue, it softens the ambiance. Aside from wall hooks, you can also add a shelf coat rack to give you space for extra items.

Paint your shelves black.

In contrast to the white walls and wooden shelves, you can go the dark route by opting for bare, cement walls and black-painted open shelves. Keep within a theme by curating items in dark hues to complete the overall look. Break the monotony of your vignette by throwing in items in red and gold as these will pop against the background.

Achieve balance using wooden pieces and thrift store finds.

From a simple vignette, you can turn it into a quaint reading nook in your bedroom. Consider painting your wall white then the other half kept raw and concrete. Place a table, a chair, and a lamp to complete your own personal corner. There's no need to buy new pieces as you can score must-haves when you visit Kamuning, Evangelista, or Dapitan. You can also refurbish or upcycle old items that you already have.
