Who would’ve thought that actress and host Angel Aquino has a fondness for cooking? While we’re very much familiar with her versatility as an actress, it comes as a welcome surprise that she hails from a family of cooks.

In her family’s home in Marikina, the warmth emanating from the kitchen and dining areas is undeniable. With wooden pieces, hints of red, and a spacious cooking area—it’s the best place to spend time with loved ones over good food and memorable stories. Here are six important tips you can pick up from these areas:

1. An efficient layout can help you make the most of the available space.

The kitchen and dining areas are situated next to each other—allowing Angel to prep meals even while entertaining friends. Since she oftens cooks during her free time, it helps to have everything she needs within reach. There is enough countertop space for the tasks at hand and the cabinets are kept organized.

2. Invest in pretty and sturdy stools and high chairs.

Angel shares that her family loves to hang out in this part of the home a lot. To be able to accommodate everyone, stools are placed near the kitchen. One of the best things about these areas is a simple organizing hack—must-haves that are used often are kept outside while those that they seldom use are neatly stored inside cabinets. An open shelf also holds jars of different ingredients and even snacks. When organizing your cooking area, consider separating your daily essentials—keep them in a special cabinet or shelf so you can find what you need easily.
