Who doesn’t want a photogenic home? With everyone sharing snapshots of corners of their rooms or small vignettes, there seem quite a bit of a pressure to share lovely photos. No need to worry as here tips to you can follow so you can style your home just like a professional:

For the foyer:

Display your most interesting knickknacks so you’ll make a good impression on your guests when they enter your house. A table lamp is a common sight in the foyer. Balance this with objects of almost the same height on the other side. Then, add mid-to low-height accessories at the center. Finish off with a small painting that leans on the wall.

For the living room:

Play with layers and textures. Put throw pillows of different shapes and sizes on the sofa. Mix plain with printed ones, but make sure they are tied together by a color scheme to keep the sofa from looking messy. It is also best to use throw pillows made of different materials. For example, you can have a suede pillow mixed with a cotton or silky one. You can even add a furry throw to make the space cozy and to bring in additional texture.

For the coffee table

Putting a flower vase at the center isn’t the only way to do it. Bring out your coffee-table books (they’re called such for a reason) and make low stacks of them on the table. You can also use your favorite magazines. Stack them at different heights and top each with interesting accessories like a lovely ashtray, a small handpainted vase, or even your favorite paperweight.

For the dining room

Symmetry is key. Place something low and long (like a slim fruit tray) at the center of your rectangular dining table. Then, put height on opposite ends of your dining table “star” by way of tall vases or candlesticks.

For the kitchen

Liven up your kitchen with bright colors, like apples, oranges, and fruits in lively hues. A tray with these fruits looks lovely against a neutral kitchen counter. Bring out your other colorful kitchen accessories like colored glass jars or bowls to make the space more interesting.
