5 Ways to Maximize a Small Kiddie Room

Your kids' room isn't just for sleeping. It's also the special place where they can play and study. Given these functions, it's essential that this part of the house is kept clean, organized, and safe.

If you have limited space to work with, you can always work with clever storage solutions and space-saving items to make the most of the space. Let these five easy ideas guide and inspire you. 

Opt for bunk beds

Bunk beds are great space savers for your home. However, you must consider a few safety measures to prevent accidents! Place the bunk bed in the corner of the room, so that there's a wall on one side. This can lessen the chances of your child falling out of the bed.

Store toys vertically

Install a shelf in the unused space above the door to store some of your child’s toys or belongings. You can also make use of the empty vertical space by the bed to install shelves for books, toys, and photos.

Add a sofa bed

You must provide a comfy corner where you and your kids can bond together. Opt for a sofa bed so you can fold it back in when it's not in use or when it’s their playtime.

Create an accent wall

Define one area of the bedroom with a simple accent wall. Use removable wall decals featuring your kid's favorite cartoon characters to spruce up the space. If you have toddlers at home, you may also hang a white board at the edge of the room. This can be useful for school work or additional decor.

Add storage under the bed

Wondering where you can store extra sheets and beddings? Make use of the space underneath the bed. Utilize plastic bins or containers to store the sheets. You can also use this area to store your kids’ shoes, toys, and other essentials.
