By now, you've probably tried different natural cleaners to keep the home spotless—baking soda, vinegar, and orange peels are among these. If you're still on the lookout for ways on how to save money and the environment, you can experiment with banana peels, too! An efficient and budget-friendly cleaning must-have, these peels can keep your house sparkling. Take note of the ideas below:

For silverware

Using a blender, blend a few banana peels to create a paste. Use this to scrub your precious pieces using a soft cloth. Rinse your silverware by dipping it in a basin filled with water. Dry afterwards using a clean cloth. This hack is also effective when polishing jewelry.

For leather

Keep your leather essentials in mint condition by rubbing the insides of your banana peel onto the surface of your leather must-have. You can do this when cleaning your bags, couches, jackets, and shoes. The potassium from the peels will be absorbed by the leather—reducing scuff marks. Using a soft cloth, wipe away the remaining residue afterwards.

For ink stains

If you have curious little ones at home, it's inevitable to spot ink marks on furniture and walls. Say bye bye to these by simply rubbing the white part of the peel onto the tinged corners and spots, then watch the ink magically disappear.

For scratched disks

No one wants to listen to or watch a CD that skips. Get rid of scratches by rubbing the inside of the peel against the back of the disc. Make sure you do this in a circular motion. Using a clean cotton cloth, wipe the surface. Finish off with a few sprays of glass cleaner then wipe it clean.

For wood furniture

Smear the peel on your dull-looking wooden items then rub it gently. Wipe it off with a slightly damp cloth to breathe new life into your pieces.
